Holy Irish hotness, Batman!

Irish fans not yet suffering from U2 overkill, set your VCR’s. RTÉ have announced a TV night dedicated to your favourite band. From 9pm, Saturday 25 June, Gerry Ryan will host a programme that will show new footage and archive material:

  • ‘U2 – Brussels Backstage’ is a short film about the huge collaborative effort that went into launching the European phase of the current Vertigo tour.
  • ‘U2 – The Show’, on their live performances then and now.
  • ‘U2 – Covers’ looks at some of the covers that have been made of U2 songs.
  • ‘U2 – Vertigo’, an interview with U2 manager Paul McGuinness about the creative thinking behind the current tour.
  • ‘U2 – The Walk on Tour’ takes a humorous look at U2’s Dubliabout the appeal of this particular song.
  • ‘U2 and I – Anton Corbijn’ featuring the Dutch photographer

  1. One of my biggest wishes is to one day be able to receive Irish (and british) TV channels on my own television in Holland… I still haven’t found the technical solution to this.
    In this case, I guess I have to wait for the DVD. No doubt someone will make one out of all this.
