Twickenham staff vow to best Manchester colleagues

U2 Sweden have contacted staff at Twickenham stadium to find out what the story is for next weekend’s gigs. They received an answer (scroll down the page for English response) from Sarah Newton at the Twickenham Stadium Operations Department. She writes:

‘I can absolutely assure that Twickenham Stadium takes on board everything that occurred yesterday at Manchester.’

Read on for more information on how Twickenham will handle queuing.

  1. Just returned from Twickenham to see what was going on in preparation for tomorrow. They have arranged MANY MANY rows of barriers in the north car park (and probably in the west car park also). All in true back-and-forth airport-style queuing fashion. The car park floor is all dirt and gravel so be prepared for a very uncomfortable time on the hottest day of the year so far …

Oh and I managed to waltz past security and strolled down to the GA floor past the mixing deck and right up to the stage. Of course I looked official in my blue shirt and trousers. Before long I was politely escorted out by the nice secutity man as I didn’t have an access pass. Pretty cool all the same!
