Adam needs a lot of space

19 Jun ’05: 1.30am and still suffering the afterglow of the first U2 gig at Twickenham, London tonight. The boys seem to have come to grips with the big stadium venues again, totally going for it. Bono was having some fun with a balloon and dedicated a song to all the doctors and nurses out there, “especially the nurses”. Zoo TV also resurfaced in the form of cameras being pushed into a random (short) girl’s hands.

After the show the band was kind enough to make a few fans happy by signing a few things for them. Edge was heard saying he really enjoyed tonight’s show, but agreed that tomorrow’s show would probably be even better, given it’s a second show.

Faced with two tickets to sign, Adam opted to sign the most practical one, being the unused Dublin one. Edge mentioned he really needs to talk to him about the amount of space his sig takes up… Bono left without being seen.

That’s all from Twickenham for now. A few rowdy hours of sleep ahead of us before we get back into the fray again.

Over and out from London.

  1. Today (June 19th) is Aung San Suu Kyi’s 60th birthday. A lot of people, including the Dalai Lama and Kofi Annan, made a plea for her freedom again today. I’m sure Bono will make a reference to her tonight during the show. Wish I could be there! Oh well, at least we have somebody at the scene to give us live updates! Are you still wide awake over there??
