Review to follow. We’re still speechless. Here’s where we’ll be uploading some photos. And, um, here’s some of Miss Sarajevo (.wmv).
Shows me for telling Bono the setlists were boring 😛 That, or he actually listened 😛
What a fab show that was.
I have 6 weeks of no sleep to catch up on, so I’ll go do that first.

I feel like I’ve been hit by a freight train, what a show! And what fun to see Bono stir things up!
Goosebumps won’t go away for guite a while…

Wow. What a great show!! And I didn’t even care for not being able to smell the band and see the sweat on the band’s heads. The sound was better than I expected, being used to smaller venues. Review and photos will follow…

Just back in from my third show here in Amsterdam..and what a show. Great setlist, best sound in 3 days and great fun to see this band having fun aswell. I didn’t realy like the audience tonight, being a lilttle flat and nonresponsive but all in all this is WORTHY closing of the Amsterdam dates. I love u2…damn

Amazing show, that’s all that i can say right now. Miss Sarajevo was beautiful, especially the Italian opera part.
It is just me or was the crowd not very energetic during the first couple of songs? I felt like after Beautiful Day everything was ok.
I got the impression Bono was trying very hard to kick some crowd butt into action during Electric Co.?

For those interested, this was only the third time Miss Sarajevo has ever been played live: the first instance was by the Passengers with Pavarotti on 12 September 1995 and the second was at U2’s famous Sarajevo concert on 23 September 1997.
I am simply stunned that it was played today. One thing I never expected. Wow. Truly amazing! And that video clip gave me chills and goosebumps. What a performance! What an extraordinary vocal effort by Bono!

WOW. Man, this sounds like the show of the tour (so far)! Miss Sarajevo, unbelievable… Was that a wee Pavarotti overdub near the end of the clip or was that all Bono?

I’m sorry, but this was the concert with the worst sound ever. I want my money back. One big mess of noise. I will never go a concert in the Arena again.

I was just saying to my boyfriend ‘looks like Bono’s voice is cracking up a bit again’,when he bursts into Miss Sarajevo, including that amazing bit of opera at the end. UN-BE-LIEV-A-BLE!!! Well, it was easy inserting my foot, while my mouth was still hanging open :O

Just woke up (still feel asleep, but oh well) and listened to this… and the high notes still give me goosebumps. Bloody hell… and this is even a bad sound version!
I’m not even sure I want to go to more shows now 😛
Big big big thumbs up to the band. I’m still speechless here.

Fabulous show!!! Absolute 1st class performance!!! But as said before by others, please stay away from that Amsterdam(n) Arena in the future. The sound in there is an absolute insult for Rock-concerts. Please U2, avoid that place in the future. We know the lyrics, but if we didn’t , we were not able to understand what you were singing.
But still this show kicks ass!!!!!!

As Bono said yesterday, looking and listening to the crowd: “I love this…I could bath in this….and that’s possible in this incredibly big bathroom…..” Sound was not great, but still the best in three days, and the best I ever heard in the Arena. I’m slowly recovering, U2 as a band is looking towards the future and I for certain will be there!

I am still in disbelief… amazing!!
(Here’s to hoping that they do something as crazy in the upcoming MSG shows this fall… instead of an even-New-Jersey-got-a-better-show-than-you show : )

It was great to be in that show. Miss Sarajevo was stunned and unexpected. “Is there a time for Sinta klaas”, nice Bono, you know the Dutch crowd. The only bad comment to this show is the audiences. They didn’t response to the band. It’s OK if you don’t know “Electric Co,”, but don’t you think it’s obvious that someone in Bomb shelter stay motionless when they play “New years day”. It was also my first time that I saw rude pushing in U2 show. Please don’t make a fist in U2 show. I always expect great show and nice people when I go to U2’s concert.

@LEK: no response from the audience?? Do you have a hearing problem.. or are you visually impaired (no offense to those with actual hearing or visual handicaps!).. How many people did you actually see that stayed motionless during NYD/Elevation/Vertigo/Sunday Bloody Sunday etc? Can;t be too many cos I saw a lot (A LOT!!) of jumping and dancing from where I was standing…
Maybe you should focus more on the 49500 people enjoying the show instead of the 500 who just dont seem to care.. it will make you enjoy the show more too!
I agree though.. I dont understand those people either.. I mean.. for them to wait hours and hours in line to get into the bombshelter and then when the show actually start just dont give a f&ck?! It’s beyond me.. but its their choice and their money.. I’ll just have my own party!

mrmac – i totally agree – was right up the front only for a short while on night 1 cos people were standing and not jumping and complaining about the pushing and elbowing me in the face while I was having a fab time – then on night 2, the people behind me (seated!!!) complained cos i was holding my flag in the air and they couldn’t see: my response: well stand up like everyone else then – haahahahahah! Some people eh! But overall, the crowd rocked as much as u2 did – great atmosphere and apart from the few people who were in a huff, the rest of the crowd made up for it :):):)photos can be found at the village – aria121 – not the best, but gives a good idea of what went on – enjoy!

First U2 show ever for me! And I think I couldn’t pick a better one to start with!
The sound wasn’t too bad when the music was loud, it could have been a lot worse.
(ivé heard the Red Hot chilli peppers in the same stadium, and they were pissed as hell. The sound was terrible!)
When Bono said something I only could guess what he was saying. So allthough the public was very enthousiastic, the interaction failed mostly. Shame shame shame.
But I don’t want to sound too negative, best rockshow I’ve ever been!
Thank U U2

MOJO, get that F**KIN’ steamer out of your system. I’ve never heard such a bad sound in all my life. And WHY???? (ArenaAufSchalke was good, not as good as in The Kuip but sufficient). But I should have known. A while back I was in the kattebak for a Bon Jovi gig with Anastacia as support-act. Then I knew, I will never set foot in the kattebak ever again. I thought I had principles. NOT!!! After all, I was happy to have experienced the 3rd gig of U2. Even if it was in the kattebak. Closing down with 40. Ooooohhhh man. Wonderful. It’s a shame the crowd didn’t sing 40 as they left the steamer, long after the concert was ended. Like in ’86 in The Kuip. I was already far away from the venue and people were still singin’: Howwww longggg to sing this songgggg??? The quality (or lack of it) of the sound was the only downside.

This show was great, we were in de bomb shelter, in the front (i was standing next to “The Big man” 🙂
I jumped my feet off! And all others near us did that too, there was one guy that didn’t, he was there the 3rd time (13 and 15 too) and he was soooo tired he couldn’t move anymore, everything was hurting.
For me it was a great show, hope U2 will be back soon, and hope they will never play in the arena again. (hope they’ll come to rotterdam again !!)_

Hmm.. interesting.. I’m guessing OOTS as well, since they suddenly came out playing that in full on saterday.. they must have practiced for that Somewhere?!
On the other hand, Jacknife Lee.. he was the producer on A Man and a Woman… other songs he just did additional pruduction.. Nice though!

With a string aranger? I’d put my money on Original of the Species or Miracle Drug. Maybe a ballad release to coïncide with the 3rd leg in the States?

I was in the stands. The sound was pretty bad. But the music great. U2 are legends in the Lowlands… Until the end of the world we love to hear them sing, entertain and rage against injustice.
