Vertigo’s final stop in Europe: Lisbon

Our man on the scene at the José De Alvalade stadium in Lisbon, Portugal reports chaos at gates open. GA ticket holders were told they could queue at all four gates available. At 5pm, security opens all the gates but GA ticket holders are now told to they can only enter through one of the four gates. Apart from that snafu, entering the stadium is quite controlled and orderly.

So what will it be on this last show on the Euro-leg of the Vertigo tour? Same setlist as ever, or do we expect a surprise? We will attempt to keep you up to date tonight, ‘live’ via that most fabulous toy of the 21st century, the mobile phone. Despite the chaos at gates open, our man has secured a spot at a b-stage.

9.15pm CET (It’s 8.15pm in Lisbon) The Kaiser Chiefs are on stage and the crowd is going crazy. Bono’s daughters ‘n’ friends have been spotted in the audience. Kaiser Chiefs are going at it alone today, because Keane had to pull out due to their singer’s throat infection.

10.56: Wake Up…
10.59: Show time! U2 start off with Vertigo. No surprise there.
