  1. I just heard on an Indianapolis radio station that U2 is returning to Chicago in January for two nights (but still skipping Indy). I can’t find confirmation for this on U2.com, but I wonder who told the radio station??

  3. Always exciting, a new U2 DVD! Still, I hope they release footage from Milan as well, I want to see Miss Sarajevo again! (and again, and again, and again……….) Any news about the rumored Box-set (dvd zoo tv/ popmart mexico/ extras….)? I’ve been saving up for x-mas!

  7. Its nice to hear miss sarejevo(song that they rarley play)First time(Zooropa which is a very underrated album), and Fast car.

I hope this would be better than Boston dvd because the director was cleary in love with Bono. It felt like the BOston dvd showed 80% Bono, 10% the crowd, and 10% the band.

  9. The only thing that I agree with KellyK on is the cover of the DVD. It is almost like a U2 branding that we are seeing which is kinda boring now. It kinda makes me wonder if were going to see // in front of everything that U2 does. Album, Concert selections seem to be fantastic up to this point. I’m just hoping that this DVD is not as polished as the Boston Elevation one, although it was refreshing to see the Slane show DVD!!

  11. Miss Sarajevo is a cracking live track.. the reason they don’t play UF or Ultraviolet, tho I live them, is simply because Bono wouldn’t be able to sing them. I have no complaints about the setlist, I mean Electric Co, An Cat Dubh, Blinding Lights, ABOY, The Fly.. these are some of my favorite U2 songs.

  13. I think KellyK makes a valid complaint. U2 are somewhat just going thru the motions. How many tours and DVDs do we need to hear Bullet the Blue sky, with or without you,…on?

The new album’s material is just not strong enough to warrant a DVD again. What they need to do is make a double live album of all their best live recordings over the years.

I hate to say it but U2’s days as innovators are over.

  15. those are fightin words kellyk.
miss sarajevo=obscure? i would not think that would be the case for a fan, it is on the greatest hits after all..
miss sarajevo=horrible? that’s just crazy talk, yo!
but of course, to each his/her own. i agree that the dvd cover is not all that innovative, but honestly, who even cares what the cover looks like? it’s the inside that counts methinks. the performances i have seen on this tour are blowing me away.

  17. I’ve seen U2 perform in many cities in many countries. Chicago is my favorite place to see them live (Montreal is a close second). I CAN’T WAIT to have this dvd in my hands and relive the Chicago shows!

  19. I think the criticism of this tour ( people saying it is a carbon copy of the last) is totally unfounded. I think one must be blind to believe that. Surely, there are some similarities – but there are way more differences. Also, I LOVE the cover of the new DVD for it emphasizes the tour as one of themes ( so to speak). COEXIST my friends, COEXIST!
Can some of us stop looking for ANYTHING to criticize and start LISTENING to this amazing band. There’s a message here, to be heard!
Some of us clearly don’t realize how special this band really is and its simply because their so darn popular…don’t let that get in the way here!
    Can’t wait for the DVD!

  21. I’ll be travelling 10,000 miles this December to go to my first ever U2 show.

If you have heard With or Without You, One or Where the Streets Have No Name over and over again in the many shows you have been to, count yourself lucky. Some people can live that dream
    only once in their lives.

  23. I have never been to a U2 show and I may never get to go, so I am grateful for everything on the DVDs. If you’ve seen them live a bunch of times, don’t let yourself get too spoiled to appreciate the music or the band anymore.

Stop complaining and just enjoy it with reckless abandon! That’s what it’s for!

  25. Yes because they are just going “through the motions”, how can you even say that? we have heard SO many rare songs this tour, and isnt this what the “die hards” wanted to hear?, and IMO the new albums songs are far stronger than the last tour, but as i said just my opinion,

also sorry to go on, but i for the life of me cannot remember the electric co, an cat dubh/into the heart, running to stand still, Zoo Station, 40, plus the 8 songs from the new album, even being on the last DVDS, plus mysterious ways and pride were both cut of the boston DVD, we get them on this one,

personally i belive there are some people that will just try to pick fault in the U2 of today, if you dont like it no one is forcing you to buy it, or to go to there shows etc,

  29. Yes they are just going through the motions. To those of us who think that U2’s most creative period was 1990-1997, the current tour and recent releases are a real disappointment. When I saw them last Summer they didn’t play ONE song from Pop, which is arguably their best-ever recording. And this new DVD promises largely the same content as Slane, Boston. The only creative thing these days is in the merchandising, e.g. the whole U2 iPod rip-off. Sorry, I love U2 but I have to say that their best days are over.

  31. Simon how is it largley the same songs played from boston? there are 8 new songs from bomb, plus the ones i mentioned above, were talking half of the songs on here are totally different to what we have on any dvd,

also its just your opinion, there are still many of us loving this period of the band, if your dissapointed no one if forcing you to go and buy there albums, tickets or dvds, just go and find a new band that you like

  33. I agree with Simon and Kelly. I mean half the songs on the DVD we have seen multiple times before. The half that are new are not very good strong songs. I bet maybe at most 2 will be played in future tours because they are so weak.

U2 should release a DVD with a video of their very early performances of Electric Co, An Cat Dubh. The current versions will never be as strong as when Bono was young and had a stronger voice. It maybe asking too much for U2 to change it up anymore. They did such a great job in the 80’s and 90’s. But personally I rather see the videos of them performing these older songs when they were performed best. On the tours they were promoted on

  35. they did a good job changing it up in the 90’s? you sure about that? considering ZooTv and Popmart had the MOST static u2 setlists to date?, electric co is sounding at its best right now, and an cat dubh/into the heart was just so haunting on the first leg, specially with the little boy up on stage aka like father and son,

personally these songs are alot stronger than the last album, as i said U2 arent forcing you to buy the dvd, they arent forcing you to go and buy albums and concert tickets, so maybe its you thats actually past it with the band? as me and many others are not only loving U2 at the moment, but find it up there with the best of U2

  37. KU I agree they are n’t forcing me to buy the CD. And believe me I won’t be buying it and I won’t buy the next album so readily either. After they hyped this album to be one their best ones and it turned out to be the worst I won’t be suckered into believing the hype of Bono anymore

  39. OK, bye Rob. Perhaps i might have a better chance of getting a ticket for my favorite band next time round.

  45. I just wanna’ say that I not only think that U-2 is THEE best band in this WORLD, I FEEL it to be true in my bones and with every fiber of my ‘being’. What other band does ANYBODY know of, with more marals, more ethicical conduct, with more wordly compassion, with more tolerance to evil, or with even just a drop more of INTEGRITY?!!?
There is not ONE single band, when I think about all the ‘Great’ ones that has exposed themselves more vulnerably, or HELLO! self-LESS-ly than U-2!
I remain a loyal U-2 ‘junkie’ since my Aunt Lain introduced me to them n 1981-ish. I was almost 10 years old and I can remember listening to and loving them right along side my aunt in S.F. CA. What an amazing emotion they continue to hiptnotize me with.
I will NEVER turn my back on them as kellyk is sounding. WHO CARES what the FRIKKIN’ cover looks like!, it’s what’s on the inside that counts I think bourk said it just about perfectly. Only I think that it is truely what is on the inside of theses people we call U-2, better known as ; BONO, EDGE, ADAM and always said last but NEVER meant as least, LARRY.
I am a DIE-HARD U-2 fan and the ONLY thing that could EVER make me turn my back on them would be harmfull acts of any nature, on any being, in way seen as milicious or cruel intent.

    Walk On, it’s a Beautiful Day!, Don’t let it slip away… SassyC*C*
