Do you hear what I hear?

Just as in years past, we are carrying forward u2log.com’s tradition of sharing holiday gifts with our readers. This year we are again pleased to offer some previously unreleased tracks.

First off, from a French acetate comes Ruff’s New Club Anthem of Discothèque. This was a track that never saw the light of day as other mixes were favored for the Pop singles.

Furthermore, from a rare Nanci Griffith advance screening copy of her album Flyer come alternative versions of the tracks This Heart and On Grafton Street.

These downloads will be available for a limited time only.

Merry Christmas!

  1. You guys really are to good to us! I still play Goldeneye for unsuspecting fans and their jaws just drop and ask how the hell I got it, I then tell them it was an xmas gift from a great site now they are regular visitors.

  3. I registered for the tracker but can’t seem to get the torrent file. Is the limited time over already? 🙁

  5. Wow. You do manage to pull out the holiday treats. Great job ripping that the Discothèque mix, none of the usual vinyl noise / EQ oddness.

@drealynn42 – try googling up a BT walkthrough and open/forward relevant ports (6881-6889) if you haven’t already and see if that helps things out.

  7. Well, I use torrents everyday without problems. I thought the link was dead because I get a .php file instead of a valid torrent file. Is that a port issue?

  9. In fact I’m sure it’s not a port issue because when I click the Nancy Griffith links I get a valid torrent file. My trader buddies will probably be able to share it with me. Thanks for the helping though Carl.

  11. Ah, my bad. I thought “BT” was short for bittorent. Got blogtorrent installed now… I do have a passion for rare Pop remixes, so many thanks for the Christmas present!

  13. Is it time for another nonsense Top 5 list??
    Top 5 Pop Remixes:
    1) Mofo – Matthew Roberts Explicit Remix
    2) Dirty Day – Bitter Kiss
    3) Staring at the Sun – Monster Truck Remix
    4) Discotheque – Hexidecimal Remix
    5) Miami – no remix at all, this song is badass the more I listen to it and it makes me miss the times U2 gave me the sense of adventure with their music. I love the last two albums, and City of Blinding Lights is brilliant to make the hair on the back of your neck stand up, but they don’t make me feel like they’ve explored new ground. Maybe after one more album they’ll put this rock roots rebirth triplet (my usage of triple is a sly reference to the fact that U2 themes seem to come in clusters of 3 albums) to rest and they can go back to some bizarro song structures like unforgettable fire and whatnot. am i rambling? i think so… that being said, god bless ’em for Fast Cars…
