Paramount Pictures is planning to release U2’s Rattle and Hum the Blu-ray high definition DVD format “sometime in early 2006“. Paramount has stated that they will support both Blu-ray as well as the competing HD-DVD standard – so hopefully U2 fans won’t be caught in the middle of the upcoming high definition DVD format war. Anyone old enough to remember VHS vs Beta?

Look for most if not all of the dvds currently out to be re-released again for the blue ray and HD dvd players. Last I heard the new players will be backward compatible for the older discs. Good thing because I’m not replacing my dvds.
I remember Beta and VHS. I still have Rattle and Hum, Zoo TV Interference, and Zoo TV Live from Sydney on VHS.

We still have a BETA machine. In fact, my Rattle and Hum is recorded from Trio on a BETA tape, along with a lot of other U2 stuff.

Anything about the extras?
Will it include the One Tree Hill video?
