Brazil gets Vertigo

Tickets for U2’s concert at São Paulo’s Morumbi Stadium on February 20th will go on sale next Monday. Ticket prices are:

  • Campo/GA Field: R$ 200,00 (US$ 88)
  • Tribuna/Stands: R$ 230,00 (US$ 101)
  • Pão de Açúcar Emotion Kit (this is a combo that includes: Stands ticket + lunch + t-shirt + Cd HTDAAB): R$ 380,00 (US$ 167)

Tickets may be purchased online via Ticketronics.net and at Pão de Açúcar supermarket, which is the main sponsor, only in some branches of São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. The other sponsors are Siemens, CLARO, and Telefônica Speedy.

The local promotor has announced that as soon as the 73,000 tickets are sold, a second show will be added for Feb 21. He also confirmed that Franz Ferdinand will be the support act and that, in spite of rumours, a show in Rio de Janeiro will not be added.

Vertigo tour to visit Japan in April

Our friends at U2japan.com report that Japan’s largest ticket service, Ticket PIA, has announced ticket purchase details for U2’s yet-to-be-officially-announced tour date in Japan. Ticket PIA lists the U2 concert as being scheduled for April 4 at Nissan Stadium in Yokohama. Tickets, priced at 12,000 yen (US$100), will go on sale on February 18.

Update: U2 have officially announced the April 4 concert in Yokohama, as well as confirmed ticket prices. GAs and upper-level stands will be 10,000 yen; lower-level stands will be 15,000 yen. Tickets will go on sale on January 21 at midnight.

Santiago and Honolulu dates announced

U2 have officially announced their Vertigo tour dates in Santiago and Honolulu. As we previously reported, tickets for the Santiago show will go on sale this Wednesday (Jan. 11). Tickets for the Honolulu show will go on sale this Saturday (Jan. 14).

Update: Honolulu ticket info is now available at Ticketmaster.com. The U2.com presale for this show will begin tomorrow (Jan. 10) at 12 noon (local).
