R.E.M. vs. U2
The author writes, “Bono even discusses Stipe in U2 by U2: ‘Michael Stipe’s friendship means more to me than I can ever tell you,’ he says on Page 162. Then, he doesn’t mention Stipe’s name again in the book.”
Er, why should Bono? The book’s about U2, not Stipe. 😉
How about R.E.M. and U2?
What’s all this competition about?
That’s what got the bassist for Creed kicked out of… well… CREED!
This is a discussion about two bands with different ambitions who’s trajectories crossed on occasion. I think it’s safe to say that both bands respect each other but wouldn’t want to trade places for anything.
And why would they? U2 has the world, R.E.M. has Athens.
I’ll call that a draw.
how much do i disagree with mr. kois? too busy to count the ways. let me just say that, contrary to mr kois’s assertion, I liked R.E.M. just fine, but i love u2… 😉
