That’s U2 in the Corner

U2 have filmed a clip for their upcoming single Window in the skies, at a venue called The Corner in Richmond, Victoria.

The Corner is ‘one of Melbourne’s most popular and respected medium-sized rock venues, famed for its excellent beer garden.’ Cheers, lads.

Our intrepid reporter Rosco was on scene and writes the following:

Basically they were just filming a video for Window in the skies. There was a large film crew set up with trucks equipment etc everywhere. Also a large rent-a-crowd that were allowed inside for the shoot. Apparently they all got in through casting agencies, so I’m sure not many of ’em actually knew U2’s music. They were all really really really good looking.

You could hear the song being played a number of times with the crowd screaming a cheering and singing along. At about 7pm the band eventually came out said hi, signed a few autographs and left.

    1. Larry looks like he is being led off cuffed!
after looking at the rest of the photos, he is without doubt the most uncomfortable celeb and that is why we love you larry!

    3. LOL When I first saw the pic, I thought “Oh no, Larry’s been arrested”. Then I read the article, and I realised why I couldn’t get in to the Corner. Being ugly never stopped me drinking at the Corner before! Sheesh, you need an agent to see a U2 show these days. What a tough life, being so good looking. That’s why Larry’s always surly. 😉 What a strange place to shoot the vid though, the Corner’s dingy and ain’t pretty, not even in a it’s-so-ugly-it’s-charming way …

    5. Why have actors _pretend_ to be full of love and enthusiasm when you could have U2 fans giving the genuine thing?

    7. Yeah, my dreams for an interesting video for this song have been dashed. Hopefully this will be one of those things where they make several videos for the same song, like Vertigo, etc.

    11. KU, we’re moaning because the biggest band in the world that has access to all the best video directors in the world has been a little heavy on the performance videos lately. If you listen to his video commentaries, Anton Corbijn moans about that too and he’s anything but unoriginal. Some of us prefer the arty stuff. That’s all we’re saying.

    13. I don’t remember (in a good way) a single video since All I want is you, except Corbijn’s fantastic clip for Electrical Storm.

    15. I agree that All I Want is You is a fantastic video (where in the world is that 1980-1990 dvd by the way?) But Please and One (Berlin version) stand out in my memory. Then there’s all the non-Anton videos like Stay, Lemon, etc. That 1990-2000 dvd was a godsend, because my vhs tapes were starting to wear out…

Hell yeah, we’re all a bunch of stunners.

And there were about 50% fans, 50% casted ‘models’ in there.

Really crappily organised day but will all be worth it when the video sees the light of day.
