Here’s a picture (and here’s more) of the extra superduper edition of U2’s 20th anniversary Joshua Tree release. Did you get it, or did you stick to the ‘ordinary’ double CD? How are you liking it so far?

I’m loving it!

Gotta love a box full of Joshua Tree.
But I have to wait until Christmas before I get mine. Patience, patience!

How could you wait for Christmas to enjoy this? I just got in the mail yesterday and I’m loving it (the box set that is). My first U2 concert was Zoo TV in 1992 so watching the full U2 Paris concert was really cool since I never saw them on that tour (though I did find a Joshua Tree Tour program book at my local record store in 1990). The CDs sound fantastic as well.

Do you know anything about the new tv series Whedon is making a pilot for? I bet he’s a big U2 fan.

Well, I know Fox gave him an order for 8 scripts, so it’s better than a just a pilot. That doesn’t mean they’ll be aired, but it shows a little more confidence than if it had just been a pilot script. The show’s premise reminds me of Dark Angel a bit, maybe a little less violent and obviously better written 🙂 It should happen somewhere around Spring 2008, if the strike ends as soon as we all hope it does.

I got the full box set. “Still Haven’t Found” has been my favorite song since ’87 and the Paris concert is the best version I’ve ever heard. The three part harmony with Adam is indescribable, but “absolute perfection” comes pretty close, I think!! I’ve been to my share of U2 concerts, but man, this one must’ve been unreal….

This is absolutely worth paying for for the DVD alone. I found a U2 song I’d never seen (they exist) live “The Unforgettable Fire.” It nearly broke my brain. Also: U2 were in colour.
