Tonight in Cardiff, Wales U2 play the last show of this European leg of the U2360 tour for an estimated 70.000 audience. The band last played Cardiff’s Millennium Stadium on June 29 on the Vertigo tour. Support bands are Glasvegas and The Hours.
U2’s Sheffield concert at Don Valley Stadium will be broadcast live on various radio stations around the UK and online at QThemusic.com, and – for subscribers – at U2.com. There will a pre-show interview with the band, a reveal of a Top 10 U2 chart (the band’s best loved songs as voted for by listeners) and live reports from the gig. Starts at 7pm GMT.
Lance Armstrong attends U2’s only show in Scotland. Bono’s mike drops out during Pride and during Walk On the PA dies. The band continue playing as if unaware the audience can’t hear them. The problem is quickly fixed. The Scottish fans provide a great atmosphere and the stadium is packed. According to U2tour.de, the black market price for a GA ticket was a mere 15 pounds (lowest on this leg of the tour?) and there were very few merchandising stands.
