I spotted myself all over that show! Too funny!! One of the best concerts I’ve been to. Great energy, great performance… Kinda surprising for a taping! 😉

Not Quite 360? I was at the Rose Bowl 13 rows up, behind the stage. I enjoyed the show Immensely, I would do it again, even from the same seats. But I was expecting just a little more. Both Bands ( Black Eyed Peas Opened) made a valiant effort to acknowledge everybody from all directions, but Im wondering, Larry’s kit was rotated early in the show but only once. Why not again? “No line on the Horizon ” was played with the bands back to us the whole time, and the video screens were playing an effect for half of the song. I realize that the show is an amazing technical accomplishment just as it is, both bands did walk (and run!) a lot around the stage, there is probably a big safety factor with the moving bridges and the runways, the show likely exhausted the band members, and you are not going to please 95000 people all of the time, but Im wondering if the folks who got the “front” stage seating got more face time then the rest of us for the sake of the Youtube broadcast or some other technical reason. I thought that both U2 & Black Eyed peas vocal mics cut out and/or rang very briefly when they were on the moving bridges, and then the singer walked back to the center, possibly to solve the problem. A whole rotating stage would have been nice, but that might be a sound mans nightmare. A great show none the less.
Give me the moon Ill ask for the stars…

I was there at the rose bowl. My first big concert and absolutely mind-blowing. One question: Does anybody know, which song they where playing right before they band walked in? I know Bowie’s Space Odyssey song, but what was the second one?

The song is Kingdom an unreleased U2 song. It may be on the new CD they are working on called Songs of Ascent. I was at the Rose Bowl and the concert was amazing and special to me because this show was my hometown show. As the 5th concert on this tour – I was really ready to be swept away, and U2 delivered the means of travel. I was transported to another place just dancing and listening. I was standing at the outer rail and when Bono was with the American flag during Sunday Bloody Sunday he was right in front of me. I got a couple of great shots on my camera phone, but more importantly a memory that will last a lifetime. I saw the Las Vegas concert Friday night, and thought a few songs were sung better there, but overall the concert was more exciting at the Rose Bowl. The energy of nearly 100,000 people can’t be believed! I’ll be one of the first in line to buy the DVD. As some people have commented the set list is radio hit heavy, but I let myself get lost in the moment and enjoyed every song. I have been lucky this tour and heard Electrical Storm in Milan and then Bad and Your Blue Room in Chicago. I guess I can’t complain but with all the wonderful U2 music that can be played it would be impossible to create the “Perfect Setlist.” I am so thrilled that the concert was streamed live all over the world! What a great first. U2 now have space to conquer, but then again maybe they have already done that!
