Bono undergoes surgery, tour start postponed

According to a statement on U2.com Bono “has today undergone emergency back surgery for an injury sustained during tour preparation training. He was admitted to a specialist neuro surgery unit in a Munich hospital, and is under the care of neuro surgeon Prof. Dr. Jorg Tonn and Dr Muller Wohlfahrt. Bono will spend the next few days there, before returning home to recuperate.
Once his condition has been assessed further, a statement will be made regarding the impact on forthcoming tour dates.

  5. I’ve had a slipped disc once, and the pain is excruciating. I hope he gets well soon, and rests that voice while he’s in hospital too instead of flirting with the pretty nurses. Hopefully the scumbag media will lay off the “50-year-old bad back” sledging.

  7. In fact, it’s a miracle Bono isn’t in a wheelchair, considering the daft and impulsive things he’s done on stage in the past. 😉
