Giddy up
A horse is a horse, of course, of course, and now the horse is Bono endorsed. [via youtwo.net]
BO(NO!)
We came across this on Youtwo.net and figured it worth a mention. Poor Bono was rejected on his 19th Birthday. Scroll down to the bottom of the page to see a picture of the letter from RSO records that’s on display at the Rock ‘n’ Roll hall of fame.
BONO AND AFRICA
In light of Bono’s recent trip to Africa, USAToday have put up a small article which includes an online photogallery complete with audio commentry.
NOT AS GOOD AS THE REAL THING
Frustrated ’cause U2 ain’t touring at the moment? Here’s a few U2 tribute bands in Australia that may keep you all sane this weekend.
Melbourne
The Australian U2 Show (Friday – Irish Times, Saturday – Dan O’Connell)
Sydney
Rattle and Hum (Friday – Cock ‘n’ Bull )
The Real Thing (Saturday – Crows Nest Hotel, Crows Nest)
Adelaide
Zoo2 (Friday – Brecknock Hotel)
A MAN CAPTURES COLOUR
We’ve made mention of him in the past and now, David Egan, the Irish/Australian artist who paints U2 songs is set to open an exhibition of his work in Sydney on May 16 situated at his own studio.
“It has always been music that comes directly from life. U2 excites me for everything that they are — original, innovative, poetic — and for their ability to create art that connects with people.”
Thanks to Youtwo.net.
The Swedish Fish
Ever listened to a U2 lyric and wondered “What the hell are you on about there Bono?”. Well, Amiright.com have a plethora of U2 lyrics that have somehow been misinterpreted, yielding some hilarious and zany results. If you’ve got any more of your own then feel free to share them with us in the comments section.
RHINESTONE BONO
Whilst not directly or solely related to just U2, here’s a website we came across that we thought may be worth sharing. The covers project is a site that links bands/artists together via a coverchain. U2 are currently part of the longest running chain so far, linking them to the likes of Glen Campbell and his ‘Rhinestone Cowboy’.
You confused?? Well take a look and see for yourself.
COVERBAND
Here in Oz our boys are gracing the covers of some of the big music mags this month. Firstly there’s Juice magazine which contains a shot where even Larry is cracking a smile. There’s also a four page interview.
Furthermore, the Oz edition of Rollingstone is celebating 30 years and have decided to release three different covers simultaneously, one for each decade. Alongside John and Yoko (70’s) and Kurt Cobain (90’s), U2 grace the cover representing the 80’s. But have made it with a 90’s era Zootv pic.
